Practical Support From Someone Who Knows Education
Pro-Teacher Project supports educators through every stage of the teaching journey with practical guidance, trusted resources, and real-world perspective — from student teaching and the first years in the classroom to mentoring, career growth, and retirement.
Teachers Don't Need Another Impossible Standard to Meet.
They need useful information, strong systems, thoughtful support, honest encouragement, and room to keep learning.
Education is full of advice about what teachers should be doing. Too often, that advice ignores the realities of classrooms, workloads, school systems, career transitions, and life outside of teaching.
Pro-Teacher Project was created to offer something more useful: professional support that is practical over perfect, encouraging without being unrealistic, and grounded in what teaching and education careers actually look like.
The goal isn't to tell educators how to become perfect teachers. It's to help them become more confident, thoughtful, effective, and sustainable ones.

Hi, I'm Heather.
My perspective on education has been shaped by more than three decades working across classrooms, schools, leadership, mentoring, professional learning, and teacher preparation.
I've experienced education from several different vantage points — as a classroom teacher, school leader, mentor, university educator, and certification officer. Each role has reinforced something I believe deeply: educators do their best work when they have strong preparation, useful resources, thoughtful support, and people who believe in their capacity to grow.
Pro-Teacher Project brings those experiences together. It's a place where I can share practical guidance, create tools that make educators' work easier, support future and current teachers, and continue helping educators long after a single course, classroom, or mentoring relationship ends.
Experience Across the Education Profession
The advice and resources here are shaped by experience across multiple stages and roles in education.
Classroom Teaching
Firsthand experience with the daily realities of teaching, student relationships, planning, instruction, classroom management, and everything educators juggle behind the scenes.
School Leadership
Experience supporting teachers, leading schools, managing systems, navigating difficult decisions, and understanding education from both classroom and organizational perspectives.
Mentoring & Professional Learning
Supporting educators through observation, feedback, coaching, reflection, professional development, collaboration, and continued growth.
Teacher Preparation
Working with future educators as they move through field experiences, student teaching, certification, professional preparation, and the transition into their first teaching positions.
What Guides the Work Here
Pro-Teacher Project is built around a few simple ideas about what educators deserve.
Teachers Deserve Support
No educator should feel as though every challenge has to be figured out alone.
Practical Over Perfect
Useful, realistic solutions matter more than advice that sounds impressive but doesn't work in a real school or a busy life.
Growth Is a Career-Long Process
Great educators continue learning, reflecting, adjusting, mentoring, leading, and discovering new directions throughout their careers.
Trust Matters
Resources and recommendations should be thoughtful, useful, honest, and created because they genuinely help educators.
Supporting Educators From Student Teaching to Retirement
Pro-Teacher Project exists to support educators through every stage of their teaching journey by providing practical guidance, trusted resources, and real-world expertise that help teachers build successful, sustainable, and fulfilling careers.
