Welcome to the Pro-Teacher Project: Your Support Hub for Early Career Teachers
About the Pro-Teacher Project
Starting your teaching career is one of the most meaningful—and challenging—experiences you will ever have.
The Pro-Teacher Project was created to support early career teachers as they navigate their first years in the classroom. Our goal is to provide practical strategies, clear guidance, and honest insight into what teaching really looks like.
Our Mission
At the Pro-Teacher Project, our mission is simple: to empower early career teachers with the tools, tips, and community they need to thrive. We believe that strong teachers create strong students, and we’re here to make your first years in the classroom more confident, manageable, and even joyful.
About the Author
With over 30 years of experience as a public school teacher and principal, I now prepare pre-service teachers at the university level. I regularly work in PK–12 classrooms alongside mentor teachers, staying closely connected to the realities of today’s schools.
I am a strong advocate for treating teachers as professionals—supporting them with the respect, resources, and working conditions they need to thrive.
